Thanksgiving 2023

Thanksgiving 2023

Yessa spent Thanksgiving week with Betty and Kate at their grands in Ohio. I dropped her off and stayed one night on my way to Iowa to see Babs and bring home all the items I left there when I flew home in early November. Because of this, we waited until Saturday, December 2nd to have our family Thanksgiving.

Everyone pitched in to cook up their favorites or their specialities.

Buds looking like he's giving the bird CPR, but actually spatchcocking it.
Monkey would live on deviled eggs.
Making the mashed potatoes.
Buster and Monkey set the table in the dining room, probably the last Thanksgiving in this room.
The bird looked great!
Let's eat!

In the photo at the top of the page, it looks like Buds is looking at his phone. He was actually checking the photo he took of me taking the photo.πŸ’–πŸ’–

Notice the bottle of Seco in the photo above? I picked a grapefruit flavored one because Buds loves grapefruit. He loved it so much, he drank the whole bottle like water, except for my one glass. We've been laughing about it ever since. "It was soooo good," he kept saying. πŸ˜†

The rest of the lineup was just as delicious, though less intoxicating.

Loaded mashed potatoes
Simple sweet potatoes
Vegan and non-vegan stuffing
Two different gravies
These are vegan! 🀯
Turkey was a hit.

Vegan roast was delicious.
You already heard how fantastic this was.
Monkey ate these for days.

I forgot pictures of the apple and pumpkin pies and there's no video of the gratitudes we each expressed as we held hands at the beginning of the meal. Family, friends, good health, and love were all part of the joys.

I remain grateful.

My people. πŸ’–πŸ’–
