Two Quick Visits With The Grands

Thanks to a big winter storm that moved through last week, we got to see Buddie’s parents at the start of their trip down to Nashville to see the family down there, rather than just at the end of the trip on their way home as had been the original plan. I was still in quarantine so only waved from a distance behind my mask on their first stop. Hence, no pictures.

But their second stop we squeezed in a lot in a short time.

Buddie’s dad crafted this castle when the kids were little. It was used by the grandkids, and is now ready to move on to another family. They brought it along for me to find it a new home. It really is gorgeous.

We headed over to MCC so they could see the classrooms each of the kids take classes in, the bookstore, food court, and Monkey’s apartment. It’s fun to know they’ll have a mental map of these spaces when the kids talk about them now.

They also got up early to go to hangout at CrossFit Park Avenue for the first part of the class with us. Not only was it great to show them this space we value, in a very thoughtful gesture, Coach Tyler asked Buds to be the demo person for the burpee box jumps. Normally Tyler would have just done the demo himself, so I love that he gave Buds this chance to show off his skills for his parents.

The poster that’s up to congratulate the Quarterfinalists.

No matter the age, praise from our parents is valued.

It was a quick, but valued visit, plus Mary brought more surprise gifts. Those get a post of their own soon.

Thanks for the visit!
