The Wiz!

The Lucky Seat website with which we had great luck getting seats in NYC also raffles seats for theaters around the country. We got seats for The Wiz here in town on Friday night. I had watched the movie version many years ago, but it was so fun to see the musical in person.

It was a full house in a theater that seats close to 2500 people. We were tucked up against the wall, which was a great spot for us. Plus, the seats allow more room compared to the theaters on Broadway (or Off-Broadway, a little theater humor for you...), so we never felt cramped.

The musical was great, but I think our favorite part of the night was that a large elementary/middle school-aged group of school children were in attendance, and the energy and enthusiasm they brought to the crowd was fantastic! Such joy and excitement, which is what theater should bring.
As always, we love being only 6 minutes from so many activities and events. We couldn't leave the house until after 7 because Yessa had to work, and then pick up Buster from campus, but even with parking, walking to the theater, and stopping at the Box Office to pick up our tickets, we were seated well before the 7:30 p.m. curtains lifted.
Ease on down the road...
