Babs' Update-Step 1 Complete

Babs had her last radiation treatment for neck and shoulder pain on Friday. She got to ring the bell and received a certificate of completion.

She got flowers from her siblings and best friend from high school:

And a smiley balloon from Kimberly who comes in to help her out with jobs around the house:

The current plan is to see the oncologist again to discuss ongoing treatment for the myeloma. It's unclear what that will look like, but she's ready for whatever decisions she has to make.
In addition, she agreed to see a pain specialist to make sure she's got all the options available. That visit happens in mid-February.
Unfortunately, even though this was low dose radiation, it did cause throat irritation sufficient to make it difficult for her to eat solid foods, and skin irritation on her neck. The medicine the doctor prescribed will hopefully help with the throat, and she's diligent about applying lotion for the skin irritation.
She remains her positive, faithful self. She didn't have much luck winning at a recent game afternoon, but if that's the toughest part of her day, she'll take it.
Love you, Babs. 💖💖
