Spain 2024-Day 1-Bilbao

Spain 2024-Day 1-Bilbao
They understand housing density in Bilbao.

Our train got in around 12:30. We both slept awhile on the train, which helped a lot.

The train station had some beautiful art to greet us:

Buds found a vegan bakery (Bohemian Lane) where we stopped on our walk to our Airbnb to help with the hunger.

The owner gave us a tour of our tiny apartment, but they weren't quite done cleaning yet so we dropped off our bags and headed out to explore.

The round, white building is an indoor market.
Lots of stairs and hills here.

We stopped at the grocery store right by us but since it was siesta time, loads of folks were shopping over their break so we walked back to the apartment to unpack.

Welcome home.

We had big plans for the evening. Get groceries, bring those back, then go out to have dinner at around 8 p.m. to get adjusted to the local late hours.

We got the groceries, but once we got back home and had a snack, the wave of the long day finally smacked us both. We generally try to stay awake until 8 or 8:30 on the first day, but we were both in bed asleep by 6:30 p.m. And grateful to be so.

Overall, it was an easy flight and easy travel once we made the train here.

A beautiful start to this adventure.
