Zimsterne (German Cinnamon Star Cookies)

We started making these a couple years ago after Monkey’s conversation with her German tutor about typical German cookies made for the holidays.

This year it felt like we really nailed it. (And by “we,” I mean Monkey. I painted on the egg whites, that’s it.)
