While They Were At The White House...
We knew they were going to be there. We knew they were going to be on the stairs on the right behind the President. We didn’t know if we’d be able to see them, but we knew we were going to try.
We started watching early and watched all the way through. I got to tell the kids who Cyndi Lauper is and they got to educate me on many other things.
We loved the energy and joy of the crowd. The excitement anytime someone started walking down the stairs and we’d press our noses to the screen trying to see our beloveds.
“Is that them?!”
“Do you see them?!”
The frustration when we realized the camera angle was going to mostly focus on the left side of the screen.
Tears at the speeches and proud to see our NY Senator there on the side of love and justice.
It was a treat to watch at home, and we couldn’t wait to hear the impressions of our loved ones who were there.
What an important, necessary day.
The signing ceremony can be seen here. You, too, can have the excitement of trying to “Where’s Waldo” Paula, Kel, Bets, and Kate.
