Europe Trip #1 – April 15, 2022 – A Cemetery, Games, and Birthday Cupcakes

We headed out in a larger group this day for exploring around town.

Taking the metro.

“Why yes, Ms. Jenny, we would like to see a glass hearse and a very large, elaborate cemetery.”

That Jenny finds the greatest spots. We all benefited from the time she spent early on learning all about Budapest. She had done a guided tour at Kerepesi Cemetery and was able to show us all around.

Turns out is is rather tough to take a picture through glass of a glass hearse. 😉

We meandered all over from bench to bench, statue to statue, area to area. It’s a huge cemetery and we saw only a small portion.

Famous director’s tomb

A huge tomb to a man and his wife. 😏

Wife of…

This tomb is for a famous Hungarian poet. You can stand in one corner and whisper to a person in the opposite corner.

It was quite rainy by this point and the kids were done looking at dead people’s statues, so we loaded them in a taxi for a ride home and Jenny, Buds, and I went off to explore some more.

There was a drunk fellow sleeping and snoring extensively on this bus.

We found a fun cafe to have a snack.

Eventually back home to hang out, have cupcakes to celebrate Buster’s upcoming birthday, and enjoy being together.

Brendan’s ready with the wine.

Turns out Buddie doesn’t understand how to play Clue. 😆😆

Happy Birthday, Buster.

A little robotics effort.

Such a variety of things done on this day.
