Europe Trip #1 – April 1, 2022 – "Arrival"
I’ve had a very large radler and approximately 3 hours of sleep since 3:30 a.m. Thursday, Virginia time. You’ll have to do your own math to figure out how long ago that was. This means this post was started at 9:30 p.m. on Friday night as I settled into bed and is being finished on Saturday afternoon. 😁
Parts of the trip were brutal on people emotionally and physically, but we’ve been here hours now and all had good food and will soon all have had some good sleep. Taking a long trip is a great way to see how people handle stress, and though we all had moments of breakdown, everyone did their very best.
We brought the train from the airport and it started to feel familiar as Monkey helped Buds buy our ticket at the airport to train to our hotel. We purchased a 24 hour transportation pass for five people and we used the heck out of it.
The train ride was 48 minutes and Yessa and Buds were sitting in a separate part of the train and Yessa texted me partway through the ride.
We got off the metro close to our hotel.
We’re staying at Hotel Altschwabing, in a location I love. K, P, K, B have one room and our family is split over two. After stowing the young in rooms we headed out, determined to stay up until at least 7pm. More on the remainder of the day to come.
