Remembrall

I just spent an hour and a half with an electrician learning about electricity, our new home, permits, and planning. He’s going to get me an estimate for our wishlist of projects, but the fun thing I learned was the purpose of this ball.

It’s next to one of the switches in the kitchen. The switch turns on the lights in the basement, but we’ve had no clue what the little ball does.

There have been many guesses, but I can now say definitively it is not a device for alien communication, nor a buzzer for the servants.

It is…a remembrall. It is burned out right now, but there’s a little light in there that tells you if you forgot to turn off the basement lights. He told me how to fix it, which will be cool.

Handy and not very exciting. 😆😆
