Parenting In A Tube Of Sunscreen

Just had this conversation with Yessa and Monkey a couple days ago.

Yessa, who worries about everyone’s health and how all of us and the pets could be healthier, “Mom, nothing against you and Dad, but I wish there had been more emphasis on sunscreen when we were all younger.”

Monkey, who has never found a sunscreen that felt okay on her skin, “I feel like there was a lot of emphasis on sunscreen when we were younger.”

Me silently thinking in my head of the hours I spent researching “best” sunscreens and the battles around getting them to wear sunscreen and the time my SIL said whatever sunscreen I wanted to put on her kids was fine because she trusted that I had picked a good one.

That’s parenting all wrapped up in coconut scent.

Decisions are going to be a clunker sometimes, a home run sometimes, and a “don’t even notice” sometimes.

It’s also while I’ll keep writing the blog for awhile longer. If I’m writing it, my version becomes THE version. 😁😁
