Cluck, Cluck

Just to be sure everyone is in on the news…baby chicks are in our future.

We’re getting three 3-day old chicks on June 5. The plan is for them to be Orpingtons which are supposed to be calm and friendly.

We’re looking forward to loving and training them, and I’m reading as fast as I can all the options and important pieces for caring for them. We have several friends I can call on for insights, for which I’m ever grateful.

Getting chickens was always part of the plan when Buds found us a property with some extra land when we made this Nash move, and it’s only taken 7 years to find the time and mental space to make it happen.

Each kiddo gets to name a chick, so feel free to share ideas with us.
