Why We Talk...

I was reminded again today why we have always trended toward telling our children the truth; telling them complete information, giving them access to our full financial picture, being honest if we are arguing or angry about something, or if we’ve dealt with another person who has frustrated or angered us.

When Yessa and I got home after music lesson and grocery shopping and errands, I told the kids, “Okay, I’m going to tell you something Dad will likely tease me about.”

I explained that I was doing some mild “prepping” based upon my reading about coronovirus.

I hadn’t been sure about talking about it with the kids because I didn’t want to alarm them, but decided to go with honesty.

No surprise, they had all heard and read about it and had their own insights and ideas to share. And talking about it was a relief for all of us.

As we talked we put away groceries and planned and laughed. It reminded me again how very much I love them.
