Murph 2019
For the non-Crossfitter, here’s what Murph means:
2011 was the first year Buds and I did “Murph.”
You can read about my second “Murph” here.
We were in Virgina for Memorial Day this year. Eddie and Buds, after encouragement from Brendan, went to CrossFit Fairfax to take on Murph with that crowd. It was Eddie’s first Murph. He did a half, Buds did a full, without the weighed vest.
Lindyne and I wanted a Murph, but not on vacation, so we were thrilled to learn our Nashville box was going to offer a second Murph day this year.
Today was the day.
Yessa and I teamed up to do a full Murph together.
Monkey and Caitlin were a team. Monkey did a quarter Murph, Caitlin a half.
And Buds and Lindyne teamed up to do a full together. (Eddie was on support crew due to a sore arm from cleans yesterday.)
Dang, it was great.
I was so proud of my whole tribe and the whole box. To push and feel supported and offer support, and to dig deep… that’s what I love about CrossFit.
To be at CrossFit, to do Murph, with 4/5 of my people. Glorious.
Here was Yessa the last time I tackled Murph:
She was tracking my rounds for me. 🥰
And today, seven years later:
She was not interested in being close to me. 😆
Time spent running Murph is time well spent.
