Things I've Never Said In The U.S.

Germany, like many European countries, doesn’t make ice a part of daily life, nor does it have public water fountains scattered around with every public restroom.

I was laughing today thinking of our excitement at dinner our last night in Rothenberg when our waiter brought our glasses for drinks with TWO ice cubes in each glass.

Then today as we were bussing around Hamburg, we saw our first public drinking fountain! It was a freestanding silver cylinder. I was so surprised and excited to point it out to everyone.
