The menfolk hiked Mt Chocorua on a sunny, muggy day. The heat and ascent kept the witty banter to a minimum but Todd and I did indulge in our penchant for manufactured arguments that we could have on the Judge John Hodgman podcast or The Sporkful.

Thoughts naturally turned to exercise and midway up, Todd declared his intention of completing a full fifty marathons within the next ten years.

That was a lot to chew on, and having no ham sandwich handy, I chewed and chewed during our long descent. Thus arose, “The New Hampshire Compulsion” (details to follow).
