The sunniest thing Buds has ever said...

What we say in private is…private. And over the years, Buds and I have poked a lot of fun at the lovey, lovey messages people put on Facebook. (If you are reading this and you’ve posted one of those messages, I probably teased you about it to your face as well.)

So, I was tickled when he sent out an email to the Juice Team announcing my birthday. Since I’m normally the ones that sends out those emails, it was thoughtful of him to remember. With his email, though, he raised the bar well past where I had it set with my “Happy Birthday, Dear Juicer,” emails.

Still, that was fine.

But then, on Facebook yesterday, he posted this:

A few lines celebrating all my sunshine does for Juice Analytics.

She brightens your day
and makes you giggle

She solves the problems
that flummox and riddle

She calls the deadbeats
and puts them to shame

If you have a question
just remember her name

And if a mandolin accident should befall you
Jennie will try to saw her finger off too!

It has lots of inside Juice jokes. (One of our Juicers did have a mandolin incident, and I did tell her I was trying to be like her when I sliced my finger. I do have the job of calling people who haven’t paid their invoices and cajoling them along.)

And at the top, he called me his “sunshine.” I suspect it was said tongue in cheek, not because he doesn’t think I’m his sunshine, because he does, but because for us, that is well over the line of PDA on FB.

I’m blogging about it both because his poem makes me smile, but also the next time he’s upset with me and makes, “the face,” I can say, “But I’m your SUNSHINE!” This should pay off for years to come.

Happy Birthday to me.
