Post-Surgery-Day Two

Post-Surgery-Day Two
Pink Pillow Piles

Short version: Monkey is doing well. If you aren't interested in more specific medical info., it's a good time to stop reading.

Longer version: Yesterday (Saturday) was restful and relaxed. Monkey's pain was well-controlled. Monkey was running a low-grade fever in the evening, and a little anxious about that, but overall she was good. I fell asleep around 11 p.m., and at 2'ish this morning, we were both awake because the tightness of the post-surgical bra, combined with the swelling and bloating that happens after surgery and when taking narcotics, was causing a bit of a panicked feeling.

Monkey walked around for awhile, took an emergency anxiety med, we got her set up with a hot water bottle, ice packs on the back of her neck, and a little respite from the extreme tightness of the bra, and after an hour, she was able to relax back to sleep.

The PA told us that day 3 was the toughest day for most people, which could be considered today or tomorrow, depending on how you count the days. The fever has resolved for now. The sore throat is better. She's asleep again, so seems comfortable.

We'll deal with whatever comes.

Mocha is a huge fan of the bed in the family room.
