The Rest Of The Iowa Time-August, 2025

I didn't have a lot of time to see people between the visitation and funeral, but Babs and I did have one day to squeeze in a couple short visits before she had an afternoon doctor's appointment.

We made time to watch "Barbie and The Three Muskateers" as a little birthday celebration for Monkey.

We got to see Alisha and George and Kathy. George is doing really well, post-heart surgery.

We made visits to the cemeteries, and then a quick jaunt over to see Aunt Kathy and Uncle Bill.

Aunt Kathy and Uncle Bill are 2 of the 3 left of the 17 siblings of Dad's. Uncle Bill looks so much like my dad, it startles me every time.

Pip and I had time for a meal together since she drove up to visit Mom and me.

And then my visit was over and I was driving to the Des Monies airport at 4 a.m. The airport had several of these displays showing actual items they had removed from people's carry on luggage.

Humans are fascinating...and terrifying.

I had a short layover in the Detroit airport, which has been completely redone, and is a pleasure to go through, except that it was so incredibly cold on both my flights, and in the airport, I had to buy a sweatshirt.

Nothing like a souvenir to remind you of your visit for a funeral.

I do not like the reason I had to go, but it was a joy to see the people I was able to see.
