Roc 'n Roll Ride 2025

Reconnect Rochester is a local organization we support with money and participation. Their big bike riding fund raiser was today, and the whole family chose to take part. It was cloudy, but didn't rain on us until the very end, for which we were thankful.

Two bike options were offered; a 30-mile bike ride, and an 8-mile family ride. We opted for the 8-miler since the kids all wanted to be included, which we were thrilled to see. We biked to the beginning of the event, got registered and picked up our new t-shirts, then waited for the 30 minutes until the guided tour kicked off.

We were especially fond of the Brompton as we're longtime fans of a "Lady Brompton", a YouTube channel featuring a the adventures of a British lady traveling around Europe with her sometimes drunk, anthropomorphized folding bike.

We mostly rode in bike lanes, on bike paths, and on the Genesee River Trail. It was a quiet Sunday morning, and the cars that did pass us were careful since there were 40 of us. Riders of all ages, including wee ones in bike seats on the bike of their adults' bikes, had a great time out exploring the area together.
The looping ride brought us back to Rohrbach's Beer Hall where lunch, live music, and lottery picks waited for us.

After the raffle tickets were all drawn, we hopped on our slightly damp bike seats for the ride home.
When I was choosing photos for the blog post, we had a chuckle at google photo's offer to get rid of Buddie's family in the background.

A little cold, a little gray, but I was glad to have the time with the whole crew on bikes.
