When Life Hands You Funny Moments...

Two hilarious stories have fallen into our lives lately, and we do not want to lose either one of them.
During the brief time we were with Jenny and crew, Jenny talked about a magical, mortifying, glorious moment during her Developmental Psychology class. (Jenny, feel free to send me any edits if I get parts of the story wrong.)
Being the good student she is, Jenny was seated in the front row of a very large lecture hall. The professor was showing a video on a very large screen at the front of the room, so Jenny didn't really have full view of the whole screen all at once. The class was discussing parallel play, and this video was of 3 little white boys playing in a room together. As the video neared its close, Jenny was stunned to hear her own voice calling out, offering food to the boys.
She realized one of the boys was Aidan, her very own son.
Jenny gathered her wits quickly enough to raise her hand to say, "One of those is my son."

The professor was gobsmacked. Jenny is pretty sure there was going to be discussion with the class about the parenting decisions made in the video, so the professor had to quickly regroup, and just said, "Let's move on to the next video."
You can watch the video yourself here:
Jenny reassured me all the boys, even the screaming car thrower, are all doing well as young adults.
When Yessa and I were recounting this story to Buds, it reminded Buds and me of our own magical, mortifying moment.
Decades ago when we bought our first home in Lafayette, Indiana, it was a 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom. Despite my parents showing up with a trailer of furniture and random stuff they offloaded onto us, we still needed some things for this home. This lead to some weekend outings to estate sales.

I hate to shop, but estate sales are about people's lives, so this sort of shopping I enjoyed. Buds loves a good bargain, but estate sales often involve too much talking to people about their lives, so he was not a huge fan.
At one memorable estate sale, probably our last, we had purchased a few items, and they were sitting out in front of the house until we were ready to load them up. Buds laid down in the lounge chair we had purchased, with our newly purchased floor lamp next to him, and promptly fell asleep.
A large truck was backing up, didn't notice Buds, and almost backed over him before someone yelled out.
The following weekend, I was out of town at a Wellness Conference with a co-worker. We were sitting around over dinner chatting, and the talk turned to estate sales.
"I saw the funniest thing at an estate sale last weekend," she says. "This guy was asleep in front of an estate sale house on a lawn chair, with a lamp next to him, just like he was sitting in his living room, when a truck backed up and almost backed over him."
You never know what life has headed your way.
