Spring Break-Iowa Edition-2025-Day 7

Our last full day in Iowa. Buds and I started with a walk/run at a local state park on this gray day.

We drove by to see if our 30 y.o. Dodge Neon was still being driven around, and discovered it was still there, but no longer looked used.

That was the best $350 that buyer ever spent!!
The big yellow house and barn just got new roofs, so they looked spiffy. Same owners for them, too. Iowa people like the things we sold them.

Only two blocks over from the house we were staying in was the house my parents bought my senior year in high school. For an assortment of reasons, they were ready to try living in the city for awhile. It was a short-lived experiment, but I did have the unusual experience of driving 20 minutes to and from school every day.

Monkey requested time with Grandma getting a pedicure for her birthday, so in the afternoon the youngsters headed out to pick up their grandma for the spa.

After the girls were home, we considered going up to visit George and Kathy at the hospital, but he had had a full day of tests, and already had visitors coming after visiting hours were over, so we decided to hang out at Mom's.
When Mom mentioned she was considering getting rid of her jewelry box, the girls very kindly offered to take that off her hands.
As they went through the jewelry, I was strongly reminded of Teresa and Patricia trying on all of Mom's high heels when they were younger.

After dinner, Buds and I loaded up the jewelry chest while one last game was played for this trip.

Our plan was to head for home at 5 a.m. the next morning, so we gave our loving hugs tonight.

It was a lovely visit.
