Thanksgiving 2024 In Two Parts

Thanksgiving 2024 In Two Parts

Yessa flew to Virginia for a Delaware Thanksgiving with K&B again this year, and I had just had wrist surgery on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, so on Thanksgiving Day, we kept it pretty relaxed here at home. Each of the three other adults made their preferred food, and I directed the creation of vegan macaroni and cheese.

The funniest part of the day was when Monkey realized she had put the chopped up potatoes and water directly into the instant pot, without the pot.

It was funny to see her brain process what had happened and she hollered, "Stop the instant pot!" The pot was not hurt at all, and we learned she should not have the IP on the top counter where she can't see into it without being on a ladder.

The mashed potatoes and Buster's steak were the two victors of the day. The mac-n-cheese and the desserts Buds and I put together were not our best creations. But the company and conversation were a sweet delight.

After we dined, we had some family game time.

After Yessa returned home, we gathered to have our full family Thanksgiving meal. We had the vegan roast from the Vegan Butcher, which my pre-broken wrist hands may very well have helped create. Our vegan cheese ball, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, turkey breast, and lots of gravy. Plus 3 kinds of dessert; apple tart, apple and pumpkin pies.

No mashed mishap this time.

It was a delicious meal, made better by everyone being all together again.
