Little Free Library

We began to talk about putting in a little free library as soon as we moved into this home. We certainly had plenty of books we wanted to share, and we love the idea as another way to bring connection to our community.

After researching and talking and planning, Buds finally got us over the finish line by choosing the style and placing the order. But then it arrived while Yessa was in Virginia for Thanksgiving, so it sat on our living room floor.

When Buds realized the 10-day forecast showed that freezing weather was going to be arriving and sticking around, we headed to Lowe's to get the post and with the help of Monkey and Buster, got the post in the ground.

After Yessa was home, we got it all put together.

We stocked it full and it didn't take long to start seeing some action. Not only have people been taking books, they have also been swapping out books. Of interest to me was that someone took an Isabel Allende I put in there and replaced it with a different Isabel Allende. Seems like a great trade.
