Binghamton Visit

Binghamton Visit

In late October, we headed toward Eastern NY to check out several schools Yessa was interested in for transferring next year. Binghamton was having a full day open house, beginning with an 8:15 a.m. check-in, so we were up and on the road very early.

We attended several panels, toured the campus, got lots of questions answered, and even meandered our way to one of the wellness centers.

No way this could end badly.

After we had gotten our fill of campus, which Yessa liked quite a bit, we met up with some old friends for lunch.

Barry and Mingmei were grad students with Buds back in the Economics PhD days, and they are both now professors at Binghamton.

Barry at our wedding. He was a cake server.
I love this picture because no one is going for the garter, except John, who is getting married 2 weeks after us. Barry is so not interested, he's eating cake.

It was interesting to get Mingmei and Barry's perspectives on Binghamton, and to catch up on their life.

After our meal with them, we headed to Ithaca to drive around the campus at Cornell, and then to a self-guided tour at Ithaca College. As several friends had told us, Ithaca is hilly and beautiful. Yessa especially loved the Ithaca College campus.

A quiet moment to reflect on campus.

No idea what next year will look for Yessa, but it was fun to explore some of the options.
