Nashville-August 2024

Nashville-August 2024
Such a cozy life.

We told the story of our time in NYC, but I do not want our Nashville visit to be lost to time.

We flew down on a Saturday so we would have time with friends before we focused in on the time with our nieces from Sunday on.

Dropped off in the very early morning at the ROC airport by our personal taxi service.

Buds and I hadn't had time to play at the ROC airport, so with extra time before our flight, we got in a few rounds of Pong and Pac-Man.

Having the Museum of Play in your town does have fun benefits.

Easy flight to DC, and we tried out the new people mover/subway at the airport, which we had not been on before.

We weren't seated together on this first flight, so I waited for him to disembark like a dutiful wife.
Way cooler than the old "people movers."

The flight to Nashville was delayed due to a mechanical issue, so I had time for a little rest.

Brother Z and a niece picked us up at the airport, so we had time for a quick visit with them, and time to borrow one of their cars so we could head for lunch with The Baileys and then drive to Thena's for a slumber party.

We front-loaded time with these folks to be sure we had the chance to see them, and since we wanted the rest of our time to be niece-and dog-focused.

Back to the land of musical giftedness on every corner.
Wonderful late lunch and catching up.

We had a relaxed, lovely visit with Fi, dinner at home and a movie, and then a great night of sleep after our very early morning.

Breakfast together.

Final hugs, then off to hang with these two and the puppers.

The girls are totally self sufficient, so after waving them off to school each morning, Buds would settle in to work, and I would work on whatever project I had dreamed up for myself.

One niece needed the sides of these bookshelves stripped, so I worked on that.
The doggos needed frequent trips outside, although it was so hot, long walks were reserved for early morning and at night.
I had a delightful coffee with Teresa.
And lunch with Lou.

We got to see a couple of our niece's volleyball games, which I love!!

I also spent time each day talking to our crew at home as they were also getting settled into their classes.

Before we knew it, our in-laws were back, happy with how our nephew was settling in on campus. ❤️

One last volleyball match to watch together...

Brothers together again.

Brother Z kindly got up at the crack of pre-daylight to drive us to the airport, and off we went for our NYC adventure.

It was great to see our people in Nashville, and to leave Nashville behind to head home.
