A squawk and a "f###-a-doodle-doo" squeaks out of the bathroom. Our Spanish bathrooms have been equipped with powerful water pressure and both waterfall and spray heads. What happens when the spray head is on but you thought it would be the waterfall?

Can you spot the danger?

At a Cafe. It's May Day, Labor Day. We've walked to a neighborhood cafe. Broken English and broken Spanish negotiate a pair of old-fashioned cappuccinos and toasts. The little cafe sits beside a childrens' playground in the central court of a five story apartment block. There should be a law requiring little cafes beside childrens' playgrounds.

"Traditional" capo means a head of foam; "modern" means a smaller topper.

Our "yes-and" walk has found us atop a rainy hill park in San Sebastian's center. A peacock struts atop a magnificent tree calling out for love and pride.

May you find it, bird.

Down the hill and rain is steady. Clothes make the weather but our feet are soggy now.

This apartment has three (four in a pinch) rooms and a shared living space. We're blogging, learning, chatting with the owners.

We walked back to the old town for a vegan cafe experience and found their kitchen closed at 4:00pm. They were only serving sweets and we nearly overdosed with a massive carrot cake / basque caramel cheesecake pairing.

The "kitchen" and the restaurant operate on separate nested schedules. We knew this and also we didn't know it. As we walked off the Cheesecake Factory feeling, we grocery stored up the classic parings; baguette/cheese, salad/strawberries.

Final delights included viewing sand graffiti. Most people wrote "Johnny Loves Sally", but this artiste made a massive crescent moon behind puffy clouds.

And finally a carousel. Here's some "facts" I gathered from the "web."

While European Carousel rides typically turn clockwise, their American counterparts usually spin counter-clockwise. This is because European Carousels were originally intended for cavalry practice - check out the history of the Carousel for more information. Warriors would mount their Merry-go-Round horse from the left, so they could draw their sword from the left holster and hold it in their right hand, If the Carousel didn't spin clockwise, the warriors would be facing backwards!

That does sound like some hot bologna. All the more so because this European Carousel was spinning counter-clockwise.
