The Lisbon Apartment - Europe 2023
Our first apartment of the trip was high in the hills of Lisbon in the Bairro Alto district. Called “Cool View House,” the rest of the family quickly built a mental map of getting up and down and all around to the various places we needed to go.
I happily trailed along behind, knowing when we saw this door we were nearly home.
Step into the small vestibule, walk up 6 wooden stairs with deeply worn centers where thousands of feet have stepped for hundreds of years, turn right at the top, unlock the finicky lock with the very old key, and you are truly home.
Walk down the hallway and the next room on the right was this bedroom:
Next to this room was the bathroom. I forgot to take bathroom photos, so I borrowed these from the apartment listing.
The photo above is a little dated because they replaced the shower curtain with an actual glass wall.
Next up as you walk down the hallway was the dining room.
Then the living room, with a balcony.
Finally, the kitchen and its balcony were at the end of the hallway.
This was a comfortable place to stay as we kicked off our adventure.
Enough room for private space and good sleeping, several spaces to gather together.
