Move In Day -Monkey, 2023
With Buster and Yessa along for the fun, Monkey moved into her residence hall apartment on Friday. She’ll share the home-away-from -home with two other people, both of whom lived in the apartment last semester. The roommates haven’t moved back for the semester yet, so it was a relaxed afternoon of getting Monkey settled in.
Her key was bent so facilities had to cut her a new one, but that was dealt with quickly and efficiently. Other than that wrinkle and the gray, snowy day, it was a good beginning to this new adventure.
After the first round was unpacked, we picked up Buds and headed out for a celebratory dinner at Cerame’s. They seated us in the party room and we had it to ourselves for quite awhile so we could laugh and tell stories to our hearts’ content.
A stop at home to drop off the two youngest, gather up a few more items, then back to campus so Buds could see the room.
Buds and I took another load of food, computer, and supplies this afternoon, then left Monkey to continue getting used to her new room. She didn’t sleep well the first night, which is no surprise.
The apartment has 2 full bathrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen, including dishwasher. There are four bedrooms and one is empty, so a good amount of space for the three youngsters.
It feels strange not to have her here, and I’m so grateful she’s so close to home.
Classes begin on Monday and each kiddo has an in-person class this semester so I’ll be on-campus at least 4 days a week. I’ll get to see her as often as she wants to see me. 💖💖
