Two Quirky Things

Two Quirky Things

At our CrossFit here we’ve recently started working out with a new person. He’s new to us, not new to this CrossFit.

He looks EXACTLY like Bucky (Actor Sebastian Stan) of Captain America fame.

Here’s a picture of Bucky:

I’d send you a picture of the fellow we work out with, but it would look like this:

The second time we worked out together, I had to say something.

“Do you get told you look like Bucky all the time?”

He looked confused.

“Who’s Bucky?”

He’d never seen the Marvel movies, didn’t know who Bucky was, had no interest.

“It’s good, looking like Bucky.” I assured him. “Bucky is awesome.”

So now every time I talk to him, I have a conundrum. I have to remember to call him by his real name, which is not “Bucky,” but I’m constantly thinking “Bucky” in my head.

I’m a little worried I’ll end up shouting “Bucky, Bucky, Bucky!” at him.

Sort of like this video from the Steve Martin movie “Roxanne” where firefighter Chris’ co-workers have just told him NOT to mention the nose!

Our second musing is about google photos face recognition. When I need to find a picture of a specific person, it is great.

Except when it gets it wrong.

It has a tough time telling Monkey and Yessa apart in certain photos.

Nieces Pam and Teresa are often confused.

But this recent wrinkle came up when Buddie’s mom asked me about some pictures of his brother “Z.”

Ummm, that’s not quite right.

Long lost relative?

Thanks for taking this quick tour through my brain.
