An Autumn Outing

An Autumn Outing

We had our longest bike ride yet, getting in 30 miles today. It was sunny and 70° when we left home around 11:15 this morning, cool and overcast by the time we got home at 4:30.

Planning out our route and where we’ll eat lunch.
Ready to ride with our walkie talkie necklaces.

Buds got walkie talkies and they were much easier to use and hear from than our previous rides using an ongoing call on our cell phones.

We rode in new areas for us, on beautiful paths and trails. The leaves are past their peak, yet it was still gorgeous.

A fire department training area we rode past.
Mid-ride stretches

The above photo is notable because our ride had an unexpected change right after this. When we hopped back on the bikes, Yessa’s would not turn on.

We love these electric bikes, but they are significantly heavier than a regular bike and we were a long way from home at this point in the ride. Buddie generously offered to swap bikes with Yessa and he rode the rest of the way home with no power.

We stopped at “The Wok” for a late lunch and had a delicious meal.

We had the whole restaurant nearly to ourselves and the food was fast and delicious. It’s only about 4 miles from home, which was grand because the sky had turned overcast and the air nippy.

One last stop for a “Stranger Things” themed photo. (Ask Yessa. She can explain.)

And finally home, chilled but thrilled with our longest ride so far. It was a glorious day.
