Europe Trip #1 - April 6, 2022 - Vienna Day 3 Afternoon Arts and Laughter With Our Boy

Kel, Paula, Kate were off to the House of Music. Buds had Bets and Yessa off on an electric scooter adventure.

Monkey was out shopping and Buster and I headed out to the KunstHistorches Museum.

When Buddie studied here in Vienna, he was saving every schilling for a post-study abroad European trip with his then-girlfriend. One of the few extravagances he allowed himself was a membership to this museum. He would come here with his sketchbook and wander the galleries. I love to think of him then, wishing I had known him.

Even without the spectre of Buddie-past, I would still love these marbled stairs and soaring, masterpiece covered walls and ceilings. The paintings here tend to run “dark,” which is not my preferred.

I mean literally dark, not thematically dark.

But there is an Egyptian area here that I adore.

We saw several paintings that appear in Animal Crossing which makes us smile.

Buster found out he’s a Medusa fan.

It was such a treat to walk around and chat and discover with Buster. I loved it.

That night we regathered for dinner out close to our apartment.

Then Buds and I popped over for a late night visit to hear about Monkey’s day.

Tomorrow we head out for Salzburg while Monkey begins her truly solo adventure.

Two cities down.
