Tripped Up
On August 15, 2021 we purchased plane tickets for a 3 month trip to Europe from March 31, 2022- July 7, 2022.
In September 2021, we decided we were ready to leave Nashville.
October 2021 we purchased a home in Rochester, New York.
Thanksgiving Day 2021 we moved into the new home in Rochester, NY.
February 7, 2022 we realized that trying to leave a new home for 3 months after you just moved in 4 months ago was causing us way more stress than joy. We like our travel to be joyful so when we came across a deal for $3xx tickets from Madrid to Dulles, we decided to rework our trip.
Now we’ll fly out with Kel, Paula, and the girls on March 31. Spend 9 days with them, train over to Budapest to visit Jenny, Brendan, and crew for a few days. Fly with them to Sicily for a week of joyful, fly to Madrid to explore central Spain for a couple days, then fly back to Dulles on April 25.
Home for May and most of June, then we drive back to Virginia to drop Mocha off at Paula and Kel’s again, fly out to Madrid, make our way over to Cinque Terre in Italy for play and Gem-Fest, then nearly a week in Germany and we fly back to Dulles from Munich.
As soon as we discussed the idea with the whole family, we all knew it was the right decision. Two three-week trips to Europe across one summer is the stuff of dreams, and we’re going to enjoy them to the hilt.
Phew. The last half-year has held a lot.
Good thing they threw those coins in the Trevi Fountain.
Europe, here we come.
