GNUUC March 15, 2020- First Virtual Service
As the repository for our family’s memory of our shared journey, I want to be sure not to forget the time our family of 5 was THE congregation on March 15, 2020.
Rev. Cynthia presented the sermon, and we were scattered around the sanctuary, some of us focused, some of us reading, some of us videotaping. We managed to make the room feel full.
In case you are interested, if you watch, you’ll see a few faces you know, and hear Buddie’s laughter.
Considering this was planned on the fly after the Board decided on Saturday morning that we wouldn’t meet in person on Sunday morning, I’m very proud of how it came together. And the congregation was so appreciative and loving when they watched it later, despite the wrinkles and goofs.
Funny side note; lots of folks at our church have a tough time telling Yessa and Monkey apart. It always makes us laugh and think of Kate and Betty who sometimes run into this same issue. For those of us who know these four well, there’s no way you can’t tell them apart, but it’s just a quirk of human nature, and some people do have a really tough time with faces.
Yessa received a lovely note from one of the older members of the congregation telling her what a lovely job she did during the service and what a joy it was to see her face. As you’ll see, it was Monkey, but the message was still lovingly received.
