New Steps, New Steps
(Very subtle reference to “Strictly Ballroom” for those of you paying attention.)
The youngest and eldest in the family wanted a day to recover from our cross-country train adventure, so after our morning walk down to the grocery store to purchase breakfast and lunch supplies for the rest of the family, Buds and I headed out to investigate Hamburg.
Our goal was two-fold: Get thirty thousand steps and discover some interesting places for the family to visit later in the week.
We walked down to the water front and first headed to the St. Pauli Elbtunnel.
Buds created an interesting time lapse video of one of our walks through the tunnel,
Then we rode ferries around the harbor,
had a delightful outdoor lunch,
climbed to the top of an unusually shaped office building,
investigated the closed fish market,
tried to go on this submarine, but decided to bring other family members along,
walked all over the shipping district and waterfront,
found our first stumble stone,
and walked, and walked, and walked.
It was a hot, sunny day, and I loved spending it with this guy.
