My Book About Me

My Book About Me

Our crew has loved reading a book from my childhood entitled My Book About Me by Dr. Seuss. My eldest brother, David, and his wife, Vicki, gave it to me as a gift when I was 9 or so, and I wrote in it on and off until I was about 11. The children enjoy reading what I wrote, seeing the goofy pictures I drew, and asking about my childhood.

So, with a cousin’s birthday coming, I decided to order a passel of the books for our crew, cousins, and good buddy “I.” When Yessa saw me wrapping up the one for Birthday Cousin this morning she said, “I want one of those books, too!” Buds and I winked at each and said, “Well, OKAY!” and brought out the copies for the kids.

These links with my childhood make me happy, and the humor of Yessa rushing around counting windows and forks. (Get the book…you’ll understand.)

Oh, and Monkey has 5000 freckles, according to her book.

Update: February 17.

Cousins stayed overnight last night, so we gave them their books, too. I loved seeing everyone working away. It was almost like having a little classroom.
