Treasure Hunts and Shaving Cream

Treasure Hunts and Shaving Cream

Cousins had the week off for Spring Break, and we got them for a whole day! The children dreamed up the idea of a scavenger hunt, and I was tasked with hiding the jewel and writing the clues. It was so fun to see them scamper around–inside and out–looking for the little pieces of paper, trying to decipher the cryptic messages, and laughing like hyenas as they figured each one out.

Reading the first clue.
Could it be in here?
Hidden in a computer?! Crazy!
I could have just thrown the paper into the toy explosion of the basement and they never would have found it.
Final clues
The jewel is found!

After the scavenger hunts, we decided to do a little experiment making pretend rain clouds with shaving cream in a glass of water with food coloring. Well, what else can you do with a pile of shaving cream but play with it?!

Let's make a rain cloud.
Big snow pile
Yup, they had fun...
And I discovered shaving cream cleans the walls nicely.

I promised Cousin O we’d have a shaving cream battle outside sometime this summer when the weather is warmer. Should be great fun!
