Our First 2012 Trip Out to The Valley

Our First 2012 Trip Out to The Valley

The weather was so gorgeous, and I was so thankful to have more time to enjoy the children now that the auction was complete, we decided to spend a couple days out in The Valley. We’ve gotten pretty good at getting packed up, since we take generally the same items every time.

We headed out on Wednesday morning, planning to come home sometime on Thursday. I took along the yarn and instructions for the lapghan I wanted to work on. The children took their imaginations. This is one of those times where pictures speak more eloquently that what I might choose to write.

Getting settled in in the apartment. They children prefer the coziness of sleeping there when it is just the four of us.
This was the first time we'd seen the stream by the house running. Crisp and cold.
The crew loves making "soup" with the "Risk" game pieces.
The stream intrigued them immediately.
"Hey, Mom, can we play in the stream?"
Shirts quickly got wet and dirty.
Hmmm, would it work to play in the water with the cast?
Turns out, clothes are more hassle than they are worth!
The house does not appear to be shocked by the hunny buns playing out back.
The beautiful sunset lures us all to the porch.
Enjoying the peaceful beauty after a full day.
So happy together...

We all came home relaxed, rested, and at peace. I was intrigued that I gave the children the option of getting home before traffic, or staying late, and they chose late unanimously. We played games, watched another setting sun, and headed home, happy to see Dad, but ready for our next visit to Paradise.
