Popped-A Tire Adventure
Yessa had a tire blow out on the way to work last Thursday. She handled it with calm and drove slowly off a busy main road to a side road so she wasn't blocking traffic and could be safe. It was a huge blessing that she was only 5 blocks from us, so I biked over, then Buds and Buster followed later to hang out with us while we waited for the tow truck.

It was a beautiful evening, so though it was distressing to her, she now has vehicle mishap added to her bag of experiences she can handle. And we also learned that our van does not have a spare, which apparently is becoming more and more common.

The tow truck team was fantastic, and I loved the chance to ride in the big truck with them to Costco.

After much discussion, Buds and I decided 4 new tires was the best way to go, but since it was already 6:30 p.m., that couldn't be taken care of until the next day. I took a Lyft home, which gifted me lots of fun stories from that driver.
Friday morning found Yessa, Buster, and me biking to campus in the morning. It was such a fun ride together, and went very quickly. Yessa biked home, Buster decided to spend the day on campus.
I headed to work. Yessa took a Lyft to her job, and late in the afternoon, Buds biked through the rain to Costco to wait for the car to be done. Buster biked, through the rain, from MCC to Costco, and when the new tires were put on, they broke down the bikes, put them in the back, drove to get Yessa from work, then they all came home, new tires ready for Yessa and me to drive to Virginia the next day.
As is so often the case, it was a hassle, but so many good things came out of it. I loved biking with the kids; the weather mostly treated us well; and I am grateful we have the money to buy new tires and have insurance for a tow truck.
Blessings abound.
