Job Update
Several of you have asked about my job, so here's an update.
It is wonderful. Buds and I were talking about the jobs I didn't get that would have more fully utilized my skills; HR and culture coach type jobs. Those would have been full-time, and we are both very glad that it worked out for me to have this part-time, walking distance, relaxed job which is bringing me such delight. And delicious samples for the family to try.
I pop home for my 30 minute break when I am working a full 6-hour shift, and Saturday I brought home a "Take On Salami" sandwich. I had never had salami before, meat-based or vegan, and I don't think any of the kids have either. Buds, Yessa, and I shared the sandwich, and it was delicious!!
I also brought home BBQ chips, a salted walnut chocolate chips cookie, and a celery soda.
Today at work, I had the ultimate experience.
Two women came in who had never been in before. I took their order, made their sandwiches, delivered them to their table, and then I was still working up front after they finished eating and brought up their trays.
"Those sandwiches were delicious! We will be back!"
Everyone I work with has had this experience, and the products we make and the produce we use is all top-notch, but there was a unique joy in hearing someone sincerely praise something I learned how to create and crafted!
There have been several funny moments at work, too. The one I think will persist with our family is the co-worker who shared the meme they had seen about keeping cheese fresh. The product is called "Stay Fresh Cheese Bags." Add a comma, and you've got an awesome exit catch phrase.
With that, I will bid you farewell.
Stay fresh, Cheese Bags.
